EXGO RXV

Great cart but can be frustrating when issues arise.  When you turn the ignition key to ON the cart controller performs 6 circuit tests.  If the controller detects a problem with any of the circuits the cart will not move. RXV E Service Manual

  1. Electric Brake Check - The electric brake is mounted to the motor.  The RXV does not have brakes on the wheel hubs.  It has a electric magnetic brake mounted the the motor armature shaft.  When the ignition key is off the electric brake static state locks the motor shaft from turning which keeps the wheels from turning.  This is the parking break mode.  When the ignition key is tuned ON and in Forward or Reverse DC voltage is applied the electric brake releasing the motor armature shaft. Cart will roll freely.  Note: If the battery pack has lost its charge (Low or no voltage) then the Electric brake will not release and the cart cannot be moved.  Replacing the Electric Brake
  2. Reverse Alarm Check - Controller sounds the alarm for 100ms.
  3. Charge Inhibit Check - Controller checks the charge receptacle for connection to the charger.
  4. Throttle Switch Check - Throttle switch must be open to pass the start up test.
  5. Throttle position check - Controller checks the TPS for 0% throttle.
  6. Throttle operation check - Controller check the TPS for the correct open and close range.
